Review process

The articles submitted for publication in the quarterly “International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering” (IJAME) are registered and given a number. Submission of an article to IJAME implies that the authors are ready to introduce the necessary corrections suggested and/or required by the Editors/Reviewers.

The articles submitted are preliminarily assessed by the editors who verify whether the subject matter of the article corresponds to the thematic scope of the journal. Both the contents and scientific quality are verified. Articles which are not within the thematic scope of the journal or which are not prepared in accordance with the requirements of the editorial team (see “Instructions to Authors”) shall be immediately rejected.

Articles which are positively assessed by the editors are sent by email to three reviewers who are experts in a given area. The IJAME journal uses the double-blind review. The editors shall make all reasonable endeavours to have the article reviewed as soon as possible.

Once two positive reviews are received, the article is published in an electronic and paper version. In the event two negative reviews are received, the article is rejected or sent back to the author/s for revision.

The revised articles are subject to review again.

The final decision about the publication of an article or its rejection is made by the editorial team made up of the editor-in-chief, language expert and technical editor. The decision is final, it does not require substantiation and cannot be appealed against.

The whole review process from submission to the final decision should not take more than 6 months, however the editors cannot ensure the deadline for the final decision.
